Post-Race Party

Course Rules

Please help us keep you and the rest of the 3,000+ Gobble runners and walkers safe on race day by respecting these rules of the road.

#1: Faster runners start up front, slower runners / walkers start towards the back
Trust us... this makes the race go more smoothly for everyone. If you're not sure (or you're pushing a stroller), start towards the back. Your personal race time doesn't start until you cross the timing mat at the start line, so no worries there.

#2: Running with kiddos is encouraged!
If your kiddo is old enough to walk or run 4 miles on their own two feet, they are welcome to run, but you’ll need to register them. We have great perks for kids this year, like kid-sized shirts and finisher medals for kids 12 and under.

You're welcome to walk or run with a stroller, we just ask that (for safety reasons) you line up at the back of the pack and don't plan on breaking any speed records. Slow, steady and safe, please!

#3: Running with doggos is a no-no
Please don't run with your dog on race day, even though we're sure that he or she is a very good boy (or girl). If you're thinking of emailing us to argue about it... please don't. The answer is still no. If you pretend you didn’t know this and bring your dog anyway, you will be removed from the course and disqualified.

Special Accommodations

Runners of all abilities are welcome to participate in the Gobble. If you need special accommodations, please email the race directors at gobble@srr.org and we will do our best to accommodate you.

CHARITY BENEFICIARIES

Proceeds from the Gobble benefit SRR and local charities like Somerville Homeless Coalition, the Somerville High School Track team, and Stride for Stride.

Over the past 11 years, the Gobble has raised over $400,000 for local charities — thanks for helping us give back to Somerville and surrounding communities!

VOLUNTEERS

The Gobble couldn’t happen without all of our amazing volunteers! Register to volunteer here! (You can even sign up for more than one shift if you’d like!)

All volunteers get a coveted Gobble Gobble Gobble shirt and priority entry to The Burren afterparty. There will be a raffle for volunteers with gift cards and prizes from our sponsors.

Everyone who volunteers will be entered in the raffle, non-runners who volunteer for number pickup, t-shirt pickup, bag check, bag return, and the finish line water stop will get two raffle entries, and course marshals will get entered into a separate raffle to guarantee they get prizes.

Sponsors

We’re so grateful for the support of our sponsors. 2025 sponsors will be announced soon!

Reach out to us at gobble@srr.org if you’re interested in sponsorship or partnership opportunities.

We also love to partner with organizations who are interested in giving back to our local community by volunteering on race day. Please get in touch!
